My name is Ken. I am now living in Brisbane, Australia. I grew up in a grass-roots family in Hong Kong. I always need to try very hard to be a so-called obedient kid at school and to excel both in morals and studies to please my parents and my teachers. My father didn’t take care of us and even left the family when I was studying in University. My mother was a very traditional Chinese mother. Her parenting method was “spanking and scolding”. I could not find love in my family, I started looking for love from friends. However, when I was in secondary school, I was rejected by all of my friends for some minor issues. I started dating a girlfriend and hoped to find love from such relationship. Of course, nothing could satisfy the empty hole in my heart. Years later, I met my wife. 

  In 2010, I suffered from serious depression, taking high dose medication for three years. It could be due to my perfectionism and the work pressure in Hong Kong. I worked very hard to earn money for buying our own property and preparing for our wedding. During the period of depression, I lost interest in doing anything, just wanted to lie in bed. I could suddenly rush to the toilet to cry in my working hours. I would hurt myself when I quarreled with my wife. Sometimes I even had suicidal thoughts. Meanwhile, God sent someone to share the gospel with us. We decided to believe in Jesus Christ and were baptized together. Something started to change when we made this important decision. Being a Christian doesn’t mean everything turns good immediately, especially when I still had lots of misunderstanding about the gospel. However, God never leaves me nor betrays me. God still loves me and has blessed me so much. 

  In the same year, we tried every effort to look for a property to buy. We loved to get one in one specific location, however there always something blocking us from buying any property successfully. At last, I let go and left it to God. I decided to stop the process of property hunting and waited until we finished our baptism. Praise the Lord, we had a property inspection on the same day of our baptism. We made the decision of buying our first property on that special day and it became our first home in Hong Kong. The price of the property was very low because of the financial crisis caused by the Lehman Brothers at that time. It was absolutely a gift from our Heavenly Father on our baptism. What’s more impossible was that, by His amazing Grace, we could get married even I was still suffering from depression at that time. We had a wonderful wedding ceremony with the help of our friends and brothers and sisters at church. For our honeymoon, we planned to go to Japan but the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami happened. The Holy Spirit prompted me to cancel the trip and we received a full refund. God not only protected us but also blessed us for a better honeymoon. We changed our honeymoon trip from Japan to England and Switzerland. My wife had asthma but one of her dream was to see the snow for once in her life. We went to Switzerland and God fulfilled her dream. Because of her asthma, we could not go to the mountaintop, so we could only take the cable car to the waist of Titlis Mountain. Somehow, we missed the chance to take the cable car back to the foot of the mountain. We could only walk back to the next station. During our walk, snow just fell down from the sky. We experienced the presence of God at that special moment.

  In 2015, we were encouraged to apply for immigration to Australia via my wife’s accounting skilled migration. My wife needed to submit her ACCA information to CPA Australia to verify her qualification, then to submit the verified document to the Department of Immigration for application. We submitted the application on the last day of the application acceptable period, waiting for the verification proof from CPA Australia sending to the Department of Immigration. Thank God that the system was linked together instantly, our application was successfully sent to the Department of Immigration in the last minute. If the system was not instant linked, we would have missed the last day of submitting application and we needed to wait for the next opening period. In such a case, we definitely could not apply for immigration anymore because the required score had increased so high next year, which it was beyond our reach. Besides, our application was approved so smoothly and fast that only 3 months later, we received the invitation from Department of Immigration. We migrated to Brisbane in 2016.

  When we moved to Brisbane, I was still in depression, we went to see a counselor, however, the counselor said she could not help me anymore after 10 sessions. In 2017, God brought us to attend the bible study group led by Pastor Percy Campbell, and from there I heard about Pastor Prince’s ministry. I also met Pastor Ming Hon and Pastor Connie Hon, who helped me a lot in our situation. My life was totally changed after listening more and more to the preaching of Pastor Prince. My relationship with God was restored. Later, my wife joined me for the first time to attend that bible study group. One week later, she was confirmed pregnant. We had married for 7 years but we could not have any children. My wife’s fallopian tubes were nearly completely blocked. Obstetrician said there was very little chance for my wife to conceive even we tried the IVF. However, my wife naturally conceived at the age of 38. Our baby boy is a miracle gift from our Heavenly Father, even the obstetrician said it was a miracle!

  In 2018, we just wanted to settle down in Australia and we planned to sell our property in Hong Kong. We sold our property in Hong Kong for a very profitable price and just after we sold it, the property market in Hong Kong went down. During the period of Covid-19 in Australia, God blessed us with our first house in Brisbane, in a very good suburb with an impossible price. We bought it via online auction in our Pastor’s home. Interestingly, the agent told us that there should be 7 potential buyers, including a doctor, who was very interested in buying it as an investment. However, that particular doctor was on call for duty on the auction date. Praise the Lord! We strongly believed that God was preventing others from competing with us. Finally, we bought a 5-bedroom house at the price of a 3-bedroom house in that suburb, it just broke the lowest record of the property sale history. After that, the property market of Brisbane went up and just in one year, our property’s value increased by more than double. What’s more important is that there is a very famous Christian College located near our house, which we would like to enroll our kids.

  In 2021, God blessed us with another miracle baby girl. My wife gave birth at the age of 42, it shocked the obstetrician for such a big unbelievable miracle happening again! Both my son and my daughter were born in healthy condition. They are now growing up joyfully and healthily under the protection of our Heavenly Father.

  By the abundant Grace of God, I am delivered from depression, and I have already stopped medication for 9 years, which is nearly impossible for my case in the experience of many psychiatrists. Moreover, during the period of my depression, I was addicted to pornography and mobile games seriously. Now, God also delivered me from such addictions. Everything changed just because I keep on listening and listening to Pastor Prince’s preaching in all formats (including books, online sermon, capsules and DVD) and it helped me to turn my wrong beliefs to right beliefs, focus on Jesus instead of my self-effort. Now, I am always hungry for listening to preaching and worship songs pointing me to Jesus! God also blessed me to be a full-time dad looking after my kids for the past 4 years. It helped me to build a strong relationship with my 4-years-old son and 8-months-old daughter. I included the word “Hei” in my son’s and my daughter’s first name when I named them, to remind them of the Grace from our Heavenly Father.

  My family is now attending New Creation Grace Church in Brisbane led by Pastor Ming Hon and Pastor Connie Hon. We are so thankful that we can be planted in a Church that is preaching the true Gospel and lifting up Jesus Christ. Thank you for Pastor Prince’s Ministry. I know that I am not a so-called “good Christian” but I am so blessed by my Heavenly Father unconditionally, so I really know that it is unearned, unmerited favor from God. None of the blessings above is because of me but all is from my Heavenly Father because of Jesus Christ. All Glory to be our Lord Jesus Christ! Praise the Lord for He is Good! Praise the Lord for His Hesed endured forever!
